Continue or restart?

The launch FAQ confirms that Early Access PC owners keep access to 1.0 and can use their existing saves. Restarting is optional. Choose based on whether keeping your build or rediscovering the opening matters more to you.

Find your character and world

Check both the local and Steam Cloud tabs in character selection and world selection. If something is missing, preserve existing files and read the save troubleshooting guide before trying a file operation.

Reassign skills and check controls

The 1.0 update resets existing skill trees and custom keybindings. Spend your points again and check movement, attacks and shortcuts in a familiar area before venturing into danger.

Review your magic options

Skeleton summons, elemental totems and expanded wand attacks broaden mage choices. Check which spells and skills your character has unlocked; test one change at a time rather than replacing your entire setup.

Pick one goal

Prepare for Cinder’s Cradle, prototype one Sparkworks interaction, or simply organize your base. A useful session can end with a clearer plan instead of a completed region.

Agree on the co-op plan

Decide who hosts, which world to use and whether the group will advance the story. At launch, cross-platform play was unavailable; verify current compatibility before inviting friends on another platform.

Record a specific problem

Note the game version, what you were doing and the exact error. Keep saves and backups intact. A repeatable report helps official support more than a list of unrelated system changes.
