Read the current requirement

Action checklist · editorial planning

  1. Open the desired recipe and note the exact ingredient names, amounts and crafting station shown in your game. Inspect resource details for acquisition hints where available, then compare them with your current quests and region.
  2. 1.0 reworked many recipes, including the stone types required by different biomes. A familiar-looking stone or an old guide may point to the wrong material; match the item name before making another trip.

Plan one focused collection run

Action checklist · editorial planning

  1. Make a short list of missing ingredients and keep backpack space for them. Combine nearby objectives only if the detour leaves a safe return route; stop collecting unrelated building stock once it blocks the target material.
  2. Explore as well as gather. The 1.0 notes add early-region chests and revise loot and crafting, but they do not guarantee a particular item on your next visit. Avoid treating an unverified chest route as a reliable supply contract.

Check the real bottleneck

Action checklist · editorial planning

  1. If a recipe is absent, distinguish an unlock problem from a shortage. For craftable armor, check Flame progression; for other recipes, read the survivor dialogue, station menu and relevant quest instead of guessing an unlock condition.
  2. Common mistake: farming before opening the recipe. On return, deposit the materials, craft the missing item and record the next requirement. If gathering dominates the session, reassess the chosen upgrade before repeating the loop.
